Glosso & Micro Sword in 10g

I currently have both of those plants in my 10G w/4wpg and neither has exactly taken off, what kind of substrate are you using? My problem is that I have a sand cap over my fluorite substrate, which is probably slowing these down.
 
Flourite, and some coral for buffering. The trick with small tanks is to have the proper lighting. If it's not working for you at 4wpg, then they probably need at least 6wpg. They're both high-light plants.

I have micro sword with about 4 w/gal. Micro swords take a lot of nutrients from gravel so it does need "root-food". Get it some.
