glosso on driftwood

i bought some glosso awhile back and i tried putting it on driftwood.so far it justs falls apart or becomes untied from the driftwood.should i just try some moss instead.And does glosso need substrate to grow?i thinking it does as it doesn't look all that great.

ive seen people add the wool to their driftwood and tie glosso and other grass/moss. seemed to work for them..

mybe i'll just plant it and try some moss on the drifwood.
