Hi guys, would it be alright to house 7 glowlight danios in a 10 gallon? Looking at them, they seem like really fast swimmers and I want to make sure they have enough room. Also, what would be good tankmates? I know some fish are bothered by zippy swimmers. Thanks for any input!

they are glowlight fish xzebra danois and then the babies are bred back to zebra danios

The offspring will carry the glo gene still. There is a thread around here showing their offspring.

i think they would be fine, just dont go over that number. i had 5 in a 10, and they were happy as a fish in water lol.

stupid i know.........but had to do it!

Sounds OK to me.

Sorry for the omission! The scientific name is Danio choprai and I don't think they're related to the zebra danio (danio rerio) or its genetically altered variant.

Sounds alright to me too. If you put other fish in there, maybe just some bottom dwellers who won't be bothered by them, like corys or even some shrimp.

Perhaps 7 white clouds and 3 sterbai cories? I have some amanos too, but could an adult-sized amano be ok in 10 gallon?

Glowlight danios are pretty closely related to zebra danios...they share the same genus ;)

That is way too much for a 10 gallon. Most I would add are either a couple otos or some shrimp for the bottom.
