Its not all that bad...
oh dear,

First of all id like to tell you that i now have 3 little otos aclimatising in my tank!
Just been down lfs and picked them up.

The staff at the place the are apaulling! handle fish with care? HA! ive never seen anything like it. The net is swanning around in there pushing everything out the way including plants and other fish, then she nets one and say " thats not it is?" "yup thats the one" "oh i didnt know they were like that" then puts it into the jug.after the 3 were in she then takes the jug with the fish in over to pour into a bag with the fish in..one fish stays in the jug because its an otto! i mean what do you expect it has suckers! anyway she then nudges it in with her finger and ties the bag roughly!-THE COMPLETE GUIDE ON HOW TO STRESS YOUR FISH!

lets just hope they live..

Sometimes lfs will let you net your own fish if you ask, that way you can get the ones you want and make sure not to stress the fish. It is actually sometimes harder then it seems, some fish are quite hard to catch!

heres my only decent snapshot of one of them..

Unfortunately many of the employees in a LFS do not know what they are doing. On a brighter note, the oto in the picture looks nice and healthy. Here is hoping that he stays that way after what he has been through.

if I were you i would have walked out of there when she had to confirm which fish you were looking for.... anyway, sorry, bud.

When I got my first fish...the dumb girl at the pet store dropped one of them (white skirt tetra)on the nasty mats. I didn't havethe heart to not take him. A few days later I noticed that his one eye was cloudy and I figured that's why. I am sorry about your fish.

I'm sorry you lost one of your little guys!! *hugs* The remaining two look pretty healthy though!! That last little guy has a nice round tummy! Always a good sign! Good luck!
