I administered the garlic in two ways, first I soaked thawed brine shrimp in "juice" and also added a little " juice directly to the tank. As for expecting it to work in two days, yes. All of the info I gathered on using garlic claimed that it's effects would be seen in that amount of time or less, maybe had I been a little more patient It may heve rendered good results but I am not comfortable in waiting. I disconnected my pump and overflow seperating my main tank and sump and am treating them in the sump(29g)
I did have another question though. I am using the same AC300 that was running on the sump, will I have to discard the media after copper treatment or can the copper be removed from the media with carbon? I am using only sponges in it and to my notion the sponge material is inert and not going to leech ay copper is this correct.
Pewrhaps after I am a little more seure in my SW knoledge and my tank is more mature, shoould I encounter ich again I will give garlic another chance. I don't think the success stories are fabricated, there is surely something to it!
