RedSea protien skimmers are not exactly the best choice to go for, I would probably suggest something like a cpr bak-pak or an Aqua C remora series skimmer..You can view different skimmer models here...

Eheim 1250's are a good bit of equipment in my opinion...
hmmmmm...seahorse....Firstly, i would not suggest a beginner to buy seahorses. They are medium to advance keepers really. Seahorses "generally" only do well when put in a species tank. Reason for this is that they are very a very slow and laborious animal and when put into a tank with fish, they will be constantly competing for food which will stress them a lot and so they will be loosing out on the nourishment that they require...
Yes, a clean up crew is always going to be a good addition to the marine tank..For a 70Gal setup i would suggest a mixture of Cerith Snails, Nassarius, Nerite Snails, red and blue leg hermits, couple of cleaner shrimps and maybe a lawnmower blenny....

Sumps are a valuable addition to any marine tank, but, they are not neccesary. Yes, there is lots of valuable point to have one, but you dont NEED one...
You dont need to buy live sand, you can buy any sugar grain size aragonite sand and get a few cups of live sand from a fellow reef keeper...
An eheim 1250, if my knowledge is correct, is a pump rather than a powerhead..you may need to review that one...
Your Jewel 70 tank could turn into a lovely little marine system, no reason at all why not...

yea i was just up late was onlt midnight for me atnixon lol.
and i agree with him hold off on the sea horses bp45. unless u really know ur stuff they need to be in a species tank.

For sure...the basics you need to get the tank running are...
1) 1 - 1.5lbs of live rock per gallon
2) Sugar grade Aragonite Sand ( plus a couple of cups of live sand )
3) Protien Skimmer
4) couple of Seio M820 Super Flow Pump/powerheads ( gives you 24 x turnover )
5) Lighting - we discussed this in post number #3
6) RO Unit to give you nice and clean water
7) 300w Heater ( or maybe 2 x 150w heaters )
8) Saltwater Master Test Kit

yea thats a perfect list right there u can always ad more but thats what u need to be sucsesfull right there. and id go with the 2 150wt heaters for more even heating place them at opposite ends and id recommend titanium heaters so they dont have a chance of breaking or getting broken they are only about $2-4 more than glass heaters. and also maybe a digital temp reader(like $10) and of cores all the test kits like ph,ammonia,nitrate,nitrite, calcium, and hardness/alk.
ha ha ha ha....never even gave a temp reader a thought....am slacking a little here germanman, bear with me, neen a long day.......
