hello my name is becky. i have signed upto this site to see if anyone can help me.
i have 2 gold barb fish. iv had them since they were babies and they have now grown but this past week they have been acting oddly.
its like they trying to kiss eachother and one i dont know how to word it chases the other one like its sniffing the other ones but. but one has been sitting inside the house or glass dish or under the shell alot. someone said it could be a sign of mating but i have never had fish who have mated before and i do not know what to.
if someone could help me i would be so grateful.

It definatly sounds like mating. I have never kept barbs before but the way they are acting sounds they are trying to mate. My turtles do something like that as well when they are trying to mate, with a few differences.

Don't quote me on this though as I have not kept them someone else that has would be able to give you a definite answer.

I certainly couldn't give you a definitive answer either, but it sounds like it could be mating.

A good thing to check would be to see if you have a male and a female. :)

a quick look on the interwebs pulled up this video... does it look familiar?
