gold fish losing scales and changing colors?!

Check your ammonia reading, nitrate readings in your tank.

Has your tank been cycled?

Sometimes it is normal for goldfish to lose scales.
 
tank size?
how many fish/what kinds?
water changes - how much, how often?
and as asked above, ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate readings
