hi, i have right now a gold gourami pair in my 60 gallon. i would like to get another gourami pair. i would either like a paradise gourami pair or a blue dwarf gourmai pair. would the two males\ females of different species of gourami fight?

Is it posible to do? :joe:

ok the paradise fish is a aggresive fish so dunt put the fish together and the dwarf fish i dunt noe about them

10g
3 guppies(1 male,2female)
3 cories
2 ghost shrimp

5g
1 betta

I would add another three spot gourami variant pair(the gold gourami, as well as the opaline and I think blue gourami, are all three spot gourami variants), or a pearl gourami pair. paradise fish are like bettas, some don't like tankmates, while others do. In my expiereince, three spot gouramies enjoy killing(well, maybe not enjoy, but they kill them either way) drawf gouramies, and would probably do the same to similar gouramies. Snakeskin gouramies may work, depending on the front to back measurement of the tank (I'm pretty sure a 60g is 12" front to back, so this species is probably a no-no, as they get to 9-10 inches).

btw it s a 60 hex

The hex part changes it up a bit. It might not work becuase hex tanks generally have less floor space and gouramies tend to be territorial. 1-2 female three spot, blue, opaline or gold gouramies would be better suited for teritorial reasons, as multiple male anabantoids/gouramies/bettas/paradise fish is almost a sure fire way to start a fight in some cases. By the way, or there any other fish in the tank? and what kind of planting do you have (sparse, medium or dense and how high does the majority of the plants reach in comparison with the hieght of the tank?)?

there is a red tail shark and a figure 8 puffer also.
there is not a lot or plantwork, none actually cuz its a snad bottom. however there alre about 20 lbs of rocks in is creating a well in the middle. also random rocks spread througout i could add some plants

Add the female gouramies that I suggested above, but I would be carefull with that puffer in there; puffers are generally nippy(based on what I've read) and the thread like pectoral fins that all but one gourami species posses are easy targets for fin nippers.

Two male gouramis in one tank is a bad idea. I know from experience.

If you do choose too add more blue gouramis, or opaline or whatever, make sure they are female. Another male would just cause alot of fighting. One male 3 spot per tank is best.
