well, your water has some problems. how long was the tank itself set up? looks like you are still cycling, which means there are toxins like ammonia and nitrite in your water which can harm your fish. while your ammonia is at a somewhat okay low level, those nitrites are waay too high and are probably what caused the death of your fish. during a cycle you should do water changes to keep those levels under .25 every day. nitrites of 1.5 can be a death sentence.
to keep your other plec safe, start doing water changes every day to keep those levels for ammonia and nitrites down. as long as you put in water that is the same temp as the water in the tank, and use dechlorinator, water cahnges will not hurt the fish. try doing them at 50%, if that doesn't bring the levels down to below .25, do another and another. that is the only way to keep your fish healthy at this time.

yer i do a 20% water change everyday mate, my other plec seems ok so im probaly worrying abit to much here eh lol thanks for your reply
and yes im still clyling and i think my heater aint helping coz its got white stuff inside it @ the bottom so i think thats gna pop soon .never knew this was gna be so much bloody hard work lol

my heaters have white stuff inside packed down into the bottom of the tube, i believe it may be some kind of insulation.
do more water changes! think of it this way - if you only remove 20% of the water, you are only removing 20% of the toxins. your fish are probably replacing that much by the next day, never allowing the ammonia and nitrites to drop to safe levels.. you have to change the water based on your test results and keep ammonia and nitrites under .25. at least 50% a day, more if the levels are still above .25.

but ppl are saying to me if i do 50% water changes it mite kill the fish!!! jeeshh this is hard work lol
