i read that albino oscar are a little weaker than red or tigers. do yellow/golds have the same problem?

its all what people think. the black ones arnt any more aggressive. gold, blue, green,... there all the same!

albino oscar can be a tiger or red also. there are albino tiger oscars, albino red oscars. theyre not a diff breed just a color styles. like a dog has some dogs are brown so0me are black, brindle etc the dog isnt diff only diff. by appearence!

Have only kept oscars once long ago, but there is anecdotal evidence that some color strains within a species can have different strengths, weaknesses, and behavior patterns. Electric blue jack dempsy's are known to be smaller and less aggresive than wild type fish. Any time you line breed a species to fix some triat, you take the risk of fixing deleterious traits as well (often seen in pure-breed dogs). I would have no trouble believing that albino oscars are genetically weaker than wild type fish.

well a blue demsey was the weaker genes in a dempsey which make the demsey weaker so i guess it could but ive had some demented albino tiger oscars!QUOTE=mooman]Have only kept oscars once long ago, but there is anecdotal evidence that some color strains within a species can have different strengths, weaknesses, and behavior patterns.
