I need help identifying my catfish, when I bought it the guy in the pet sotre said it was a gold spotted Magnum catfish but I can't find reference to that anywhere on the internet. Basically its a black catfish with gold spots, the guy sdaid it wouldbn't grow more than 6" so maybe that'll help. Also it tends to hide all day long and considering I paid £25 for it I'm kinda wanting a bit more viewing pleasure from him, I realise most catfish are nocternal but apart from sneaking up to the tank at 2am and switching the lights on are there any more sensible suggestions for getting him out and about during the day, it just seems a shame that the only time I see him is when I can hardly see him if you get what i mean !!!.
