Golden Killie help!

I got a golden killie from petco about 2 months ago and noticed an immediate drop in my ghost shrimp population (20 when I put him in- 0 by last weekend) I thought they had just started eating each other because I stopped feeding as much wafers because my water was getting too dirty.
Yesterday I moved my last 5 ghost shrimp from my desktop tank to my 10 gallon and just now I found my killie with one of the shrimp in his mouth. Its head is sticking out of his mouth but he is still trying to swallow it... Should I try to get it out of his mouth?
Also are Killies known to be pigs of the aquarium?
 
ahaha yeah.... Goldens are mean little jerks. mine are huge and eat everything that hits the water...

I would let him have his meal they are PIGS.

mine even bite me.

good luck with them they are little monsters! I have a male and two females .
 
Dude yeah...I had a ton of ghost shrimp at one point, some snails too, then got a breeding trio of them. Needless to say madness ensued.

Lesson learned, They will eat like any small shrimp. There mouths expand on like all 4 sides. They will attemp to swallow anything the can. Ive had TONs of them, Super easy ta breed and tough as nails,just dont put them in with ANYTHING smaller than them
 
I have had golden wonders before and I will tell you that ANYTHING that fits in their mouth is fair game. Mine grew to be around 3.5" and it would eat full grown zebra danios without any problems. Eventually, I started giving it feeder guppies as treats. It is a really cool fish and it is not aggressive, but I does like to snack on smaller tankmates.
 
Yes I can repeat what everyone else says as well, I drop those small wafers from hikari for corries and loaches and the golden killis I have take them whole in their mouths. Mine also bite me when doing stuff in the tank

I don't think they will eat themselves to death, but they will get close to it! I once dropped in several small guppies before knowing about my killi's appetite (he was named Killer, lol), and he ate so many, that he couldn't swim. For the next few days he just bummed out on the bottom of the tank while he slowly digested his feast.
 
When I fed my fish just now I crumbled some flakes up for the neon tetras. Because of this the killie was spazzing out trying to eat as much of the flake dust as possible and taking big gulps of everything near the surface. A poor little neon went for the same piece of food right as the Killie went for it :(
RIP neon tetra...

What would be the best way to get rid of this killie. As much as I love him if he is going to eat EVERYTHING smaller than him he will be a problem. Especially because he was still hungry after eating the neon- thats just disturbing.
