I have one and he is awesome. He does just fine with all his tank mates. He has a great personality and is fun to watch. He eats about anything I put in the tank (flake food, frozen brine, frozen krill and the little pods in the tank). I think you will really enjoy him. I would definately recommened him.

thats good news... how big do they get? and i was just hoping it wouldn't eat alot of pods to compete with my mandarin plans... theres not alot of room in my 29for pods to hide...

midas blennies get to about 4"

and yes, it will compete with your mandarin...

not that id advise putting a mandarin in a 29 either.

They reach up to 5", according to Fenner and will attempt to mimic the coloration of any fish that look like them and join the "school". (Fenner's lengths are more likely to be low than high in my reading, so I believe him.)

Care for blennies in general at the bottom:

These guys are carnivores, total gluttons, and active diggers. Read the section on telling if a fish is sick before you buy. They will eat whatever they find, so they'll compete with the mandarin between feedings.

what about keeping two midas blennys in a tank, would they go after each other. (thanks for the reply ben)
