Can green mollies just pop out of silver, Black, marble, and Dalmatian mollies. And besides that bit, it lacks the red and black part on the gills. It may be possible, but i have to dought it. Just seems way to brown/tan to be a green molly. and i've never even seen a green molly before, so where the hell did it come from?

I hope she's not pregnant, I can't handle any more babies! Not for a while anyway.

Yeah, it happens pretty often. Every molly you buy at a store other than a Sailfin Molly (P. lapitinna or velifera) is a hybrid. When two different hybrids cross, it can revert back to the wild form.

Muppies make for some big guppies strains. I think it was the Molly x gupppy that was the basis to get the larger Moscow strains. Which were later crossed back to moscow/guppy. The Moscow strains are one of the few hybrids to receive acclaim since it was done scientifically and not arbitrarily. The only molly gene they contain now is the coloring and larger size.

ALthough theoretically possible, I doubt this is case of muppy as female can store sperms to impregnate even w/o male present.
At such instances, one might think it was other species' ale producing hybrids.

I personally dont mind natural process of hybridization/selective breeding as long as they are not created in lab.

yup i think its possible for black mollies to produce other color mollies, I'm not sure but i remember that black mollies does not occur in the wild and is the result of crossing different mollies?
green mollies are wild form of mollies :D

ok, i get that. Still looks really nice in person. And still looks more guppy then molly, but thats just my opinion.

if it is 2x larger than a full-grown guppy, it might be. If it is close to the same size it just another guppy with different coloration.

Colors are primarily a part of heredity. A female can throw a colored fry far different from herself or any male in the tank.

most strains out there dont breed true more so if you have other kinds in the same tank. the traits are all their in their dna.

The only issue i see with the green molly theory is that Muppy has a larger stomach then a normal molly, more guppylike then mollylike. See the pics i gathered, it shows a female guppy, a molly, and my Muppy. Looks like Muppy is a cross between the two, from the stomach to tail ratio(big words, ah!) It all depends on how old a molly has to be before they can mate. The male died about 3 weeks ago, so Muppy would have been about a month old by then, but still smaller then the other 2 adult females in the tank. So, anyone know how old a muppy has to be before it can breed?
