I would suggest a partial water change in the middle of the week in addition to your weekly change. on a 17 gallon tank you should change 3-5 gllons twice a week.
you don;t need to but if youdon't then do a larger water change on your water change day maybe 40-50%.

Ok thanks, when ever i get a moment spare il do a water change. Tomorrow i will do one then on saturday, im off for a while so they will be more frequent.
