I heard that goldfish are social fishes, but there seems to be one bully in my pond. I have a lionhead in my pond and it is just chasing my bristol shubunkin relentlesly even though there are other goldfish..... and I am definetly not willing to lose my bristol.... so i guess I will try adding anopther one to see if there is any change.... I just wanted to know if this is usually the case with your ponds.

It may be mating...? That can sometimes look abusive.
or maybe just a bad fish, but ive never had a mean or unsocial goldfish.

Males will chase females when the mood is right (candles, wine, and a little music). Goldfish are a little rough, they often damage each other in the excitement. As long as you don't have any sharp objects and lots of room for them to move they should be fine. If one of them gets injured you'll need to give them a breather in a hospital tank.
