goldfish and crayfish?

Actually if your goldfish got bigger they would eat your crayfish in a heartbeat.

Crayfish are good goldfish/carp baits.

Goldfish don't freeze solid all winter in ponds. They need to be able to go to a deep bottom where it's not frozen.

+1 on OrionGirl's comments. I have pond snails in my goldfish tank, but oddly enough, I never see them on the glass. I can only guess that every one that ventures out of the gravel is devoured.

Common pond snails will be fine in cooler water, but goldfish have been known to eat them. The scuds would defintiely be a meal--even with good hiding places.

*sigh* So I guess I'm stuck with just my goldfish then? The goldfish are comets I think, with short fins, but I won't risk it anyway. Although I did see silver goldfish which I've never seen before, maybe I'll just get different colors and that will have to be diverse enough. Thanks for the help everyone.
