it doesn't sound like you cycled the tank.... how many goldfish do you have?
I don't think the mix wil be very good. For one, guppies are tropicals, goldies are more or less cold-water..... the 2 don't mix unless you keep the water in the higher 70's.... I don't think the goldfish will thrive in that. It sounds as if you've got common goldies, which I believe like the cooler water, so with the higher temp, they'd survive but not at their optimum. Secondly, they eat different things... their systems handle the different foods differently. Third, when the goldies get big enough, they just may wind up eating those guppies.
