Well, his mouth does look a bit weird.. but I think it makes him look alot cuter :

As long as he's eating and acting normaly I don't see anything to worry about.

Definitely a common fantailed. Looking at his overall appearance he seems to be slightly deformed. I can't tell if it's developmental or caused by stunting. How big is he and how big of a tank is he in?

Bettagurl is correct that as long as he eats well he should be fine.

He's just in a 10 gallon right now, and he's maybe 3 1/2" from nose to tail, at most. I want to move some of our gold fish from their tanks into a larger one, and hopefully soon. We have about 7 goldies total, spread between two tanks. And yes, he does eat and act completely normal. Also, he was about this size when we got him a couple of months ago, so the 1o gallon could not possibly be stunting, if that was anyone's concern.

he certainly is cute! you may want consider moving him to a bigger tank eventually though...
