Prolapsed rectum. For how long has he had this, how long did you have this fish, what size tank is he in, what are the water parameters and how big is he?

This has only happed today. 3 lots have dropped out today after I cleaned the tank. I’ve had the fish for 2 years and is around 10cm or 4 inches and lives alone in a 24L tank. The strange thing is that she hasn’t done any poo for a few months. Thanks for the help

His tank is too small for him. You would need 114 L per goldfish.
What are your water parameters? Ammonia, nitrite and nitrate?

I'm afraid he's got issues due to being in a tiny tank (he's got the size of a 4 or 5 month old goldfish), there is not much you can do about it at this stage.

Read this link before getting more/other goldfish..

I agree. Many people make this bery poor mistake by putting large and messy fish in a small tank (goldfish) and hen wondering why they've got problems with water quality and/or sick fish.
Same with bettas in small vases with no filter and heater, though bettas aren't messy fish but they deserve to have more than this.

Let's not bash Ben for what he didn't know. Instead, educate.

When kept in a too small enclosure, the "stop growing" pheromones that goldfish release will build up to a high concentration very very fast. This causes stunting, which means the fish stops growing (like previously stated, he is the size of a fish that would be 1/4 of his age). However, the insides of the fish keep growing and can lead to major health issues. It would make sense that his insides just got too big for his body to handle and burst out.

Your fish is suffering. If I were you, I'd humanely euthanize with clove oil-- but that's a decision for you to make, not me. I don't see a bright future for this little guy unfortunately.

Let this be a good lesson though, you've gotta do a bunch of research before you adopt any pet-- even if it's just a $5 goldfish. Best of luck :)
