I suspect these are out of a large population, that the red caps were sorted out of then the frog eye redcaps were then sorted out of them.
Remember in any of the crosses you make if the fish demelanizes and you want calico do not use the metallic fish. The demelanizing gene will knock out the black in your calicos and leave with sakuras (red and white nacreous fish). For my tastes if I'm going to have a red and white fish I'll take metallic in most cases.
Buy the best fish possible and the closest related. You're going to drive yourself crazy with the genetics if you try to hard!
