Goldfish training?

My goldfish have trained me. When they are hungry (always) they go to where I usually feed them and beg. 7 goldfish all in the corner of the tank begging... it's a pitiful site.

They will also follow me around the tank begging. And bump my hands if I don't feed them before a water change.

I've seen them be trained with a combo of a clicker and food.

wow training goldfish...

I laughed at the 3 second memory thing - then I learned they actually do have a memory.

When I first placed my goldies into the 150g tank one of them swam behind a downtube and got stuck. I let him out and not two minutes later he swam behind another downtube and got stuck. I let him stay there for a couple minutes - then let him out. I could tell it stressed him out pretty good as he hung out at the top of the tank. Since then he has never gotten stuck again. So I figure he remembers to not go back there.

Pretty entertaining...

Goldfish defiantly have a memory, how would they know people=food every time you walk into the room?
I dont know about training... never tried it but they defiantly know when their getting food...and they know that when i stick my arm towards the bottom im putting food in my plecos cave so they go nuts and try to get in there...
and bite and suck on my arm the whole time.. its so funny lol
their very social fish with humans so I wouldnt doubt the training..
