Goldfish

Probably. Mine are out now. I like to pick a warm afternoon so the pond water is fairly close to their tank water temp to minimize stress. I then put them in a bucket and float them for a half hour if temps are fairly close and then over the course of an hour or two slowly add pond water to the bucket. I then net them and put them in the pond. Do not feed them if the water is getting below 50. They will be sluggish anyway and will do fine until the pond warms up a bit.

How large is this new pond? Are any other fish already added to the pond?

What size tank are the Goldfish in now, and about how large are these fish? What kind of goldfish are we talking about? Commons (comets) can survive and thrive in ponds whereas fancy goldfish really shouldn't be placed in ponds where the weather turns nasty (the northern section of the United States). Fancys prefer warmer waters and a constant temperature is best for them.

Answers to these questions will greatly help determin whats best for the fish.
