goldfish

today i managed to finally persued my friend to give me her large 6 inch goldfish to put in my 4ft aquarium. due to my constant nagging as she kept it in a fish bowl....i know pretty cruel but its ok now...

I have noticed ont he top of its head there is a blister like growth it has some orange piqment but is still slightly opaque........Can anyone advise me as too what it may be?:help:

I've seen some goldfish that had been kept in a VERY undermaintained tank, and they were constantly sticking their noses out of the water to get enough oxygen from the top of the water, and it wasn't long before they developed sores where their noses stuck out all the time. the poor water quality didn't help, either, i'm sure.
