gonna get angels

Mike,
I have 6 koi angels in a 55 gal. growout tank. I have 2 pair and they continuously spawn but I never get any babies. With 2 pair in the tank, the parents are probably eating the eggs, so until I separate the 2 pair, I will probably never have angel fry. I could also remove the eggs and grow the fry out in a fry tank. I got my angels from a fishie friend who breeds them. I have also heard good things about Angels Plus, The House of Angels, and Wayne's World Angelfish. Shipping is probably gonna run you $40.00 alone, so this can be quite expensive to order this way. If you have a trusted LFS, I would decide what kind of angels I wanted, and ask if they could order them for you. You can also find out if there are any local fish clubs or societies and get some from a fellow hobbyist. Also check the classifieds here on AC and other forums to see if anyone has any for sale. :)

If you end up with extra pairs you can sell them as bonded pairs. You will have no trouble getting rid of them (especially if you started with good stock) and you may get a little more for going through the trouble of growing them up.

good luck

The height of that tank is on the short side for angels. If you add the "usual" amount of substrate to the tank, your angels will only have about 14 or 15 inches of height.
