Firemouths are fairly easy to breed.

If this thread proves anything, it is that firemouths are easy to breed...

But anyway, I'll take back my vote for livebearers. They really aren't going to show anything in terms of breeding except the aftermath with swarms if fry. I'd go with convicts.

hehehe.... That's what they wanted you to think... Actually, they decided that if they acted afraid, they might lull all that food outside the tank into a feeling of security. Then one day... When one gets the idea to reach into the tank...

LOL!

how about some fish that after hatching, could be sold back to pet stores. they really aren't going to want convicts because everyone has six thousand convicts. how about something that is a little harder to find than convicts. agree or disagree?

good question.

I guess at this point you would need to determine which fish to go with.

why not get the class involved in the project..go over the options, breeding characteristics, species, leading to maintenance etc.

is the tank cycled? they could learn about the nitrogen cycle..there is a lot of information to assimilate..if you decided with a species you could trade/sell to the LFS you could then have the ability to pay for the project.
