I FOUND A 6'x18"x18" GLASS TANK FOR 230$ BECAUSE CHOW HOUND GOT IT SENT BY ACCIDENT. GOOD DEAL? I HEAR GLASS TANKS OVER 75 GAL ARE KIND OF RISKY? PROBABLY VERY HEAVY. WHAT DO YOU ALL THINK OF THIS BUY...GOOD OR BAD?

you can easily get 120-180g tanks for under 200$ on classifieds (forums, ebay, etc)

stands are usually more than tanks (regardless of size)

That 6'x18"x18" tank is actually only 101 gallons. I recently went to My LFS to get glass tank prices. They have a 48"x24"x22" 110G tank for $192, a 72"x18"x24" 135G (called a 140g) for $288, and a 72"x24"x24" 180G for $372.

The Glass Tank Manufacturer is "Great Lakes Aquariums".

My LFS is "Greenwood Pets and Plants" in Warren, Michigan

i sold a 125 for 75 bucks. it all depends on your area. is the tank used? i dont like used big tanks because if you have to reseal it, that will cost money and work to get it right.

so not such a great deal then...dont' you usually have to deal with shipping and all that jazz from the classifieds?
of course, thats why you wait for one thats in your area

Check with www.glasscages.com. Check to see if they have drop off spots in your area - they charge about $60-$80 for the shipping to one of their drop offs.
