Good looking artificial plants?

Ongoing efforts with my 55g...I want some more plants in there. I really am not set up for live plants right now though I know they look so, so much better.

Is there a particular brand that produces nice looking fake plants?
 
This months PFK had a good article on fake plants.

Whatever happens silk plants look better than plastic.

In most of my tanks I use a combi of silk and real.
 
I agree that some of the fake plants look downright raunchy, but without some pricey changes to my pretty basic tank, I don't think I could do live right now.
 
I have seen some extremely real-lookin silk plants out there. Especially once they are in the water with a little movement.
 
it really depends how much you are willing to pay for them.

On a low budget you can get some reasonable plastic ones, but they wont fool anyone.

On a medium budget you can get the lower quality silk ones, thin and flimsy

On a large budget you can get good looking silk and fabric ones. They look good and have fooled many people in my tanks.
 
Do you know of any resources for the 'good' silk ones? I'm willing to lay down a bit for quality that'll last me a while, as long as it costs me less than the aforementioned upgrades that would need to happen to have live plants!

well... i did get some of the top range algarde ones.

Im pleased-ish with them.

the others... I was given by someone who went all out planted (they are in the PFK mag but I have forgotten their name)
 
A tank with artificial plants can look good if done right. I have them in my 75 Cichlid tank as live plants aren't an option with these fish. I've done the live planted tanks in the past with much success and you can use the aquascaping principles with fake plants as well.
You can get decent fakes at thatfishplace.com, bigals.com, or drsfostersmith.com.
