Rue McClanahan has passed away at the age of 76. Blanche Deveraux was one of my all time favorite television characters, I usually do not become bothered when a Hollywood actor/actress passes but for some reason this one bothers me.

I think that is the reason why this sorta upsets me, when I was younger I had an aunt who LOVED the Golden Girls being at her home and hearing the theme song to this show are some of my fondest memories. My aunt has since passed and I guess Mrs. McClanahan's passing only serves to remind me of how much I miss my dear aunt.
It's a shock indeed but I guess people can't live forever. What I love about Rue and Betty is that they never lost the passion for their work, that's something you don't see everyday. RIP Bea and Rue.
I too had the experience of watching the golden girls with a relative. I really came to love the show and the characters.
