I just cleaned it out with a mild bleach solution to make sure it's clean and germ free. Should I fill the whole thing up to make sure it holds water?

I'm also a little confused because my friend said I need to let it cure for a month. What the heck does that mean?? I want to buy my new equipment and get this thing up and running.

Check all the seals to make sure they are still good and then just fill it up outside and let it sit for a little bit to make sure it holds water.

Any chance that he had done some re-sealing with sealant and was talking about cure time of it?

Definately fill it up in a safe place (meaning a place where if it leaks it wont hurt anything). I would let it set for several days to make sure it doesn't develope any leaks.

As for "curing" that usually means resealing it. That just sounds strange.

Ample time for him to get out of town. :)

:p: I don't think that's the case

Maybe he meant 'cycle' not 'cure' ?

I talked to him today and that's the case. Maybe I'm the dummy for not thinking that. But he did let me know that it was a salt water tank when he had it running 6 months ago. Do I have to do anything special to clean it up other than the bleach I used earlier. He also gave me a fluval 204(?, not sure on the number). I was thinking I would just fill the tank and let the fluval run with clean water, no media and no fish to rinse it out. Thoughts???
