Got a couple of cherries, 1/4" male and a 1/2" female on Sunday for 3.17$ each. I figured I would try a couple, not much for money loss, and if I'm lucky I'll have a brood about the same size as some of Bill's shipment when I order this spring. I'm guessing having a larger gene pool will help produce hardier specimens.

Female (male is too small to get with this stupid cam :irked: )

(P.S: They're not staying in there for too long)

when I tried them in a trio they did not last, but when I got about 20 of them they have lasted alot longer than my oringinal three altho I still have the big male. I give them half an algae wafer a week.

Still cool and good luck with them.

I have a small piece of shrimp pellet and a couple pieces of flake with them, not sure if any of the pellet is left, the flake is in the moss. Lots of stuff gets caught in the netting of the box, they spend all day picking out treats.

my shrimp are thriving eating the microorganisms in my moss...or so I assume since they never leave the moss and are growing like crazy.

I dont know if you have seen the size of micro pellets Hikari but one each is about enough for a days feeding. As said the micro food in the tank will make up most of their food, you could put in one shrimp pellet and leave it for an hour then take out what they dont eat. If you are feeding fish in the tank then what ever tiny bits the fish miss will be enough for them.
Hope you get lots of shrimplets,
