Anyone else out there having kids graduate this spring..or graduating themselves?

My eldest daughter is graduating from college today, Western Illinois University in Macomb IL. *Sigh* was to have been music ed major, but decided she didn't like teaching the little kiddies, so is graduating with a generic liberal arts degree, but at least she's getting out with something.

i am!

on june first i will be graduating from high school!! i am so excited! i didnt really have a good high school life until this year so i am really ready to get out of there! i will also be graduating with my CNA for nursing and then going to college for nuclear readiology. :bday:

Congratulations!! Any profession/job in the medical field has a secure future with all us aging baby boomers out here.

Highlights from graduations
My husband FORGOT his mother!! We took 2 cars over, about an hour and 15 min away, knowing all the crap my daughter had we'd need the room.(and I won't ride in the care with my mother in law) I got there first...he came in and I said..where's your mom? He claims I never told him to get her....

June 9th I'll be graduating high school :)

My son graduates from grade school this week. Going into middle school. It's the same school :idea2: We never had graduations for that??? What's up with this??????

Congrats to all the graduates!!

Hehe, I hear that FLK. I remember when I was in grade 6 and we had a 'graduation', I was like, um, what did I do? I'm just moving down the hall. I think that people are just getting really keen on graduations and ceremonies to comemorate anything so that even something as, um, expected as elementary school gets a ceremony. I mean, does anyone not graduate from grade school?!

Not this spring for me, but this fall I should be defending my thesis.

What I think is silly is around here the kids that graduate from grade school wear caps and gowns. The grade schools have yearbooks. When my older child was in it was even hardback. We finally got it backed down to a paperback. To me, it makes it less special when you get to high school and college.

Of course you folks with Masters and PhD's get the cool hoods, velvet bands, funkier hats, etc.
