back in february 2006 i started marine a little 15gallon i bought 8kgs of live & during the 1st few wks of rock looking i noticed a claw lurking out of a hole i was sooooo happy to see it was a FREE crab :0) few months later i up graded to a 29galon tank & started corals & researched & found that these hitchhiker crabs are bad news even more if black hairy & have big claws well this crab had all 3 :0( utter nightmare but i just thought well there in the big sea with corals etc so i maybe ok anyway after stocking my tank with a fair few corals & ££££££`s l8r it worried me even more even more when my star polyps was spreading in places but having bits missing so something was having a small but noticeable snack on my money sooooooooooo few months l8r & i up grade again to a 55gallon tank & the piece of live rock that the star polyps was on there he was bigger than ever so that was it my chance to get him even if it was a painful finger grab in a hole but i was VICTORYS here he is.......................... sorry to bore you with my story but im so glade he is out nasty crab..
there is 2 other much smaller hitchhiker crabs one is white the other is green looks like a sally light foot but if i see any coral damage i will hunt them down i guess
