Got a big plant package today from fastang80. They are all really nice plants and were shipped super quick (THANKS!!!) However, most of them are cuttings which I knew that they'ds be. The package consists of
1- ) Cryptocoryne wendtii 'Tropica' ~ 2 plants.
2- ) Limnophila sp. 'Mini' ~ 4 stems.
3- ) Limnophila sessiliflora ~ 4 stems.
4- ) Ludwigia repens x arcuata ~ 5 stem.
5- ) Ranalisma rostrata ~ 5 runners.
6- ) Rotala macrandra 'Green' ~ 10+ stems.
7- ) Rotala macrandra red var. 'Narrow leaf' (Rotala magenta) ~ 6 stems.
8- ) Rotala rotundifolia ~ 6-8 stems.
9- ) Rotala sp. 'Green' ~ 6-8 stems.
10-) Vesicularia montagne 'Christmas moss' ~ starter portion.
and
1-) Aponogeton crispus ~ 1 large 20"+ plant. $4
2-) Pogostemon helferi 'Downoi' ~ 1 plant with 15 or more leaves. $5
3-) Ranalisma rostrata ~ 10 runners. $6
4-) Rotala sp. 'Mini' type I ~ 3 x 2" stems. $5

How do I plant these as most of them have no roots. Do I just stick the stem in the substrate or do I put a weight around the bottom of the stem and wait til the plant forms roots? I've only ever bought plants from my LFS that were in pots so this is new to me!

:grinyes::grinyes::grinyes:***One thing that I did learn was that buying on AC is super easy and AWESOME!!!***:grinyes::grinyes::grinyes:

You can just plant them into the substrate. One trick is to remove a couple of leaves from the bottom and then plant them deep enough to have a couple of leaves below the substrate. This will help them stay in. Dont get me wrong some will float up, especially if you fish in there, but then you just put them back in. If you use a tool like smooth forceps it makes it a lot easier.

BTW you are using some finicky, higher light plants in there, what are your tank specs?

They are going into a 55g with 160w total light. Am I doomed if I don't use CO2?

I've never done CO2 before. Do I have to go all out and get one of the super expensive ones? Could I just use one of the ones that run on yeast for the meantime?

Wow, that's really cool! So I would set up s sytem like that and then snake the airline tubing into the filter intake tube that's in my tank?
