after a couple weeks of searching i found some locally in the pet store. not sure why they said they didn't have any when i phoned last week but they were free so who am i to complain. anyways, the ones she gave me are about 1/2 cm long and i just want to know how long it will take for them to grow a bit and start reproducing because i only got 10 and i want to put some in all my tanks. thanks.

If you leave 'em an occasional algae wafer or part thereof, you'll have more in a few weeks. They start reproducing at about 1CM (I think).

they reproduce very quickly with food. the more you feed the more they will produce.

they are live bearers btw.
