that's a great looking tank. you're using about what, 5 watts / gallon on the lights? just curious, can there be too much light in a tank or is the more the better?
Actually I took 2 bulbs out because some stuff was looking a lil' unhappy, everything is much happier now...i don't have any SPS so I figured I would cut the amount of light...so I do believe you can have too much light sometimes depending on the corals you are keeping

It's about dog gone time you caught up with the photos!! :D :D :D Looking GREAT!!!

thanks for the information. Also I have a question on the lower wattage bulbs, do they have a longer live span tan the higher wattage bulbs? I had been looking into a light system that has 8 bulbs w/total wattage of 420 watts, they person said the life was 20,000 hrs and bulb replacement would be about $10 ea/ 6500k ( I believe . This just sounded a little too good.

are you talking PC's? with reef tanks the watt per gallon rule really doesn't work, it is the amount of PAR that the corals get
PAR
The expression Photosynthetically Active Radiation, often abbreviated PAR (sometimes shown as Photosynthetic Photon Flux (PPF)), designates the spectral range of solar light from 400 to 700 nanometers that is useful in the process of photosynthesis

Most T-5's last 18 months if they are not overdriven, PC's last about 8-12 months and MH bulbs can last from 8-12 months but change color after burning a long time.
$10 sound kinda cheap haha 6500k is a very yellow bulb and is used for growth mostly...your gonna want some actinic (blue) in there and I am sure those bulbs are more money

HTH
