Goth Tank - Ideas?

If your serious try mexican cave tetras those things r freky! Or if ur serious goth have dead fish.

this thread is giving me alot of ideas for when i finally get to upgrade my 50g. i love that spooky forest background and that driftwood/moss tree.

New Ob--lovely tank. I have a windelov java fern "tree" my kuhlis hang in anaconda-style.
I was thinking more of spanish moss hanging down in this case, spooky not pretty .

Hubby suggests using a black light for 'spooky effects'. Skulls, crossbones, etc - usual Goth stuff we see - as long as it's safe to use. Weird driftwood works too. I was going to suggest the BBA too, but someone else beat me to it, i see. Plus it's a nightmare to get rid of. Plastic plants would be the only way to go for them, but you can get them in black or white too. Spindly looking - like vals - would be good.

Don't know if you've already seen this, but I thought the effect was amazing given that it is just driftwood and moss. Of course it depends on whether you want actual "trees" vs just the branches since just the driftwood would give more of a dead tree and hence "gothic" look, but thought I would share it just the same. The other thing to keep in mind obviously as you set this up is the scale. 3 inch tombstones next to a 6" skull ornament would throw things off.
Oh wow! I saw this in Takashi Amano's column in TFH-January 2008 issue. Thought the pics shown are pretty cool.:headbang2:

knife fish would be cool

Glad you like it but to be clear, it isn't my tank. I had seen it online a couple days prior to reading this thread and it came to mind when I read about moss and driftwood.

*sigh* black light IS UV light... so... NO NO NO!!!! since mexican cave tetras have NO eyes, you can use flashing light...

I'd suggest you droop some java moss down on the tombstones
