Gotta Brag

Guess I got lucky then. =)

I was lucky as well... my son slept "thru the nite" (read: 5 hour stretch) at 10 days!!

I nursed him and I have to say that the sleep deprivation is not as bad as formula fed babies (comparing me and 2 friends' experiences)... you'd be surprised how easy it is to roll over, get baby from bassinet, prop it on pillow, feed, dozing in and out of sleep, change diaper, replace baby in bassinet, go back to sleep!!! 99.9% of the time boob babies don't need to be burped, and (obviously) there's no mixing, heating up or shaking up required :D Of course that also meant that I was the only one running on interrupted sleep!

Tom - if you don't already have some, you should order these handy dandy things!! I couldn't find the link, they must be sold out... but they actually make them in red w/ santa claus pom pom on top!!

Congrats again!

Thanks so much, everyone! THe sleeping was a bit better last night we got three solid hours of sleep after a feeding. It keeps getting better so here's hoping that continues.

Believe it or not, he's been that alert since minute one. Wide eyed and curious whenever he's not sleeping. He scored a 9/10 on his Abgar tests too so I guess being 11 days late has its upside.

Dwayne, those peepee teepee things look great. My wife apparently didn't understand the physics until Aidan gave here a quick lesson yesterday. Just about left her incapacitated with laughter while I had to clean it all up. I've been using a little cloth but I think I'll order some of the tee pees!

Congradulations Tom. Welcome to the " Papa Club".

A washcloth works just fine Tomm.....lol.....

This is true. The problem is, washclothes work for a lot of other things too so I can't count on one being on the changing table when I need it :) I doubt the wife could find another use for a small, terry cone :D

I second the washcloth idea...$12.95 for peepee teepees sounds a bit outrageous! Even with two boys of my own, I would have used those teepees all of two times. ;)

It was after I had kids.....that I learned I really didn't need as much sleep as I thought I did.....lol....

LOL! And I found out that I need as much sleep as possible! Man, I've been sleep deprived for about eight years now! Mornings are the worst for me...the kids started back at school this week, and waking up early is killing me...and it's only day two!

Covering her eyes for a nap? ;)

Congrats! What a bright eyed little chap! My cousin's baby still isn't that engaging, and she was 6 days over due and 4 weeks old now. Of course, she was also sleeping through the night at 5 days--big, sleepy baby!

My oldest is 16...the youngest just turned 10...and up until about this past summer the youngest would come for a snuggle in the middle of the night...lol...(*sigh*....miss those nightime visits...)

Just wait till you get that first REAL smile Tomm......"BLISS"
