Okay, i have my new tank. there is 10 cardinal tetra, 1 Pleco and 2 gourami (forget what type) Anyway, the two gourami will not come out from hideing. There are always hideing the in corner of the tank where i have some fake plants.

On the other hand, when i walked into my room tonight, i was delited to see one of them was out and swimming around, but as soon as the gourami "saw" me or something he ran back to the corner..... Any ideas? is this usual? they have been in the tank for about 4 days.

Your fish are fine, infact my gourami did exactly the same thing. Just give him a few more days and they'll start being more adventurous and socialable. Until then just walk into your room really slowly or sit still for about 10 minutes.

Most fish are shy. Give your gourami some time and it should come out a bit more. When I had my cardinals in my 10 gallon, they never came out from hiding. How are your's doing?

btw, you really shouldn't have a pleco, esp. a common pleco in a 10 gallon aquarium. If you are planning to upgrade to a 55 gallon or higher then it should be okay but otherwise I would return it.

actually my pleco is on my 30 gallon. And when he gets to big he will be going to Big Al's in Barrie where he will be added to there pond

On the actual topic.....

they still have not come out of hiding.... i have one that seems to come out a little then runs back to the corner to hide. humm any one deal with this before?

between my 2 tanks, I have 6 gouramis and 4 of them are quite "active" and out there....while 2 (1 per tank) do seem to hang back and stay in the plants/corners of the tanks for most of the day also. But when the food is out, I do see them eating....so I guess I am not to worried.

my gouramis took about threed yas and then they come out to great me i think its because they get food though not cause they actually like me ...lol
