A beserk betta once bit off my pearl gouramis pelvic fin -- almost all the way off. There was just enough of a stub for it to grow back.
The fin grew back quickly, and looks normal. That was well over a year ago. By the way, the pelvic fin is used for tasting AND feeling in blue gouramis, pearl gouramis, etc. It think that in other gouramis such as the paradise fish, it no longer funtions.
