gourami mouth injury?

This may be too vague to be answered, but I have a female honey gourami, and i noticed she's got this issue with her top lip . It looks like maybe she cut it on a sharp edge of something and part of it peeled back or something. I'm not sure if this is even something that happens though so I'm thinking maybe it is a known type of infection. The immediate area where the issue is is lighter in color, and it only affects the right side. the left looks pretty normal, except you can tell that once it gets toward the middle, something is awry. She seems to be acting normally, eating and swimming, etc. I wish i had a picture, but none would come out to show the ailment. Any thoughts, or suggestions of pictures to compare to for better assessment? Thanks.

I'm not so sure of the type. Little black rocks. I know that sounds ignorant, but that's all I know about 'em. They don't seem too sharp. Here is a new picture -- the injury or whatever seems to have progressed some and has now taken on a pinkish hue which is worrying me a bit:
