Im having a problem with my male gourami. I noticed about a week ago that he had a small spot of skin missing on the side of him and I dident think anything of it. But now its getting bigger and I dont know what it is. If you think you know what it is please let me know

I have a 20 gallon tank
With the following fish

1 male and 1 female gourami
2 zebra danios
1 pleco

Sounds as if he may have injured himself or had a nip taken out of him. What sort of gourami is he? If it is an injury it should be possible to use a bacterial treatment to stop the wound becoming infected. Should clear up - I've had fish with quite nasty wounds survive and thrive. It may leave the skin looking a bit patchy though, the scales never seem to grow back exactly the same.

How is this panning out. I also have Pearl Gourami with a 1/2 inch circular wound on his side. Does not seem to bother him much, but will wait and see.
