Funny you should mention that... I'm planning a 55G African tank as soon as the finances recover from the last tank! lol

My old analog video camera is permanently stationed next to the tank and as soon as the fry are big enough to register on screen - I'll grab! :)

Managed to get around 50 of the little wigglers into a breeding net safe from harm. Hopefully the mortality rate is not too high and they make it through to the next phase...

Harriet is looking like she swallowed a basketball again so I guess we'll have a pretty good chance of success! :)

cant wait to see the follow-up with the fry!

A mission to photograph and near impossible to video... Heres some of the fry on day 4 - current size around 5mm.

Siphoned around 100 of them into a 2G tank and so far no visible fatalities...

Since the the video was taken Ozzy and Harriet have spawned twice more. I'm going to need more tanks!!! lol

Luckily the LFS has offered me a trade agreement so the minister of finances (wife) can't complain too loudly! :)

They spawned 2 more times since that video?? When was the video taken?

Great video by the way! It's like nature right in front of our eyes.

Reminds me a lot of betta copulation, only they do the 'embrace' quickly and several times before chasing the female away. That, and the eggs quickly sank to the bottom of the tank. Otherwise, it's very similar... which I guess should be expected considering they are cousins and both labrynth fishes. ^__^

I have seen a lot of things in my life and thanks to you I have added 1 more to my "break the ice topics of conversation"!!! LOL
Great video!

Video - Tuesday 27th. Photo - Friday 30th.

Apparently pearls can mate 3 to 7 times depending on age etc. This has been going on for 3 weeks now and the male still hasn't lost his red/orange coloring nor stopped maintaining the bubble nest.

Very cool, love the "soundtrack" lol!
