Gourami XXX Video

Video - Tuesday 27th. Photo - Friday 30th.

Apparently pearls can mate 3 to 7 times depending on age etc. This has been going on for 3 weeks now and the male still hasn't lost his red/orange coloring nor stopped maintaining the bubble nest.

Wow. You still invading their privacy or letting them be?

They're regular pr0n stars and don't seem to care who's watching! lol

I've been too busy work wise to pay much attention to them but it seems theres a regular supply of eggs and no end in sight. I am probably making it worse by hoovering up the hatchlings and dumping them in the overflowing 2G but leaving them in the tank as light snacks for the other fish is not on.

Besides the LFS says he'll pay around $2 per fish... just think how many tanks and accessories i can score! :dance2:

On my way there tomorrow to pick up another 20G for the new additions...

oooo wow cool video. I just brought home a breeder pair of pearl gouramis. Hopefully they get along liek those. got any tips?

SWEET!!!!!

Tips... well ummm.... ours was a stroke of luck! I bought only females from the LFS and 1 of them turned out to be male! lol

What I can suggest though is cutting off the bottom of a plastic margerine/butter container (+/- 1/2 inch from bottom) and glueing some strips of styrofoam on the bottom so that it can float. This works very well for the male and his incessant bubble nest building. It needs to be opague - I tried transparent plastic so I could see in from the top but he wasn't interested.

Once the fry hatch it's a good idea to vacuum them up with a piece of airline hose and move them to a safer tank. The female will try often to get into the nest and eat them.

Turning filters or powerheads etc off at the time they spawn helps the male collect all the eggs without having to scour the whole tank.

If it helps - PH 7.2 and raise the temperature by 2-3 degrees.

Heres a recent photo of the 35 fry that made it past the first week (18 days old)...

I've put them in their own 5g with a few snails for company and they seem to be thriving! :)

Good luck with the breeding! :)
