I have 8 gouramies that peacefully co-existed with anacharis for about 3 months. Suddenly, in two days they completely destroyed it. I have a bunch of stalks sticking out of the substrate. But they didn't touch wisteria... Has anybody seen that before? Is it because they don't have enough food? Other inhabitants of my tank are corys, a clown loach, a few danios...

Any ideas, suggestions?

Anacharis is a tender (and apparently good-tasting plant) plant that fish love to eat. I wouldn't be surprised that the anacharis is consumed. Maybe your gouramis need more vegatable matter in their diets. You could supplement their diet with vegetarian food such as vegetable flakes, frozen foods, and fresh lettuce or cucumber.

my dwarf gouramis used to eat the crap out of my plants, I ended up moving them to another tank
