Gouramis and Dwarfs

Greetings all.

I was wondering if anyone knows how a regular gourami would react to it's smaller cousins, dwarf gouramis? I have a 20 gal planted tank with one adult blue gourami. His tank mate died a while back and I think some dwarfs would look nice with him. Would they get along?

Tank PH, filtration etc are fine.

I would not put another dwarf gourami with the blue gourami in a 20 gallon. The gouarmis can be feisty toward one another. I'd add something else other than a gouarmi.

I have two pearl gouarmis in my 55 gallon. The big chases the little one whenever he gets a chance. However, the tank is big enough for the little guy to hide if he/she needs to.

I have 3 dwarf honey gouramis in my 38 gallon tank. They can be mean toward one another, but I have plenty of plants for them to hide in.
I recommend glo lite tetras; small but dodgy fish. They do school well.

Had two dwarfs in a 55g and added a Gold Gourami (3-Spot) and it terrorized those little guys all the time

whoa thats almost the same as me........when i fist got my 29 gallon i was a lot more ignorant and I got a pair of dwarfs and a pair of golds.....not a good idea. within a month and a half one of each of the pairs was dead. The funny thing is the dwarf manages to keep his "territory", and if the gold tries to chase him back into a corner or nip his fins he fights back. They have enough cover that im not worried about either of them dying though.

I have a male opaline gourami and a female gold gourami with a male dwarf powder blue. They had a rough start (the gold wasn't there yet), but they're BOTH fine now. And they're in a 29gal. They're actually FRIENDS now! lol they swim together (not as in chasing or anything) I would suggest the combo since they look great together.
