Gouramis & Danios...can I put them together?

I'm interested in doing an Asian tank...is it possible to house Gouramis and Zebra Danios together?

Awesome! Thanks!! I've never owned Gouramis before, and I know Danios are a bit fast and sometimes stress other fish out. So, I just wanted to make sure.

I have a school of Danios already, and I was hoping to include them in the tank.

My dwarf gourami would chase my tetras around the tank, but would never actually nip any of them. The larger gourami's are listed as being aggressive, but I've never seen an example of it. The dwarfs are my fav though.

The answer is yes, but which with which.

EX: Giant danios will not mix with sparkling and chocolate Gouramis.

both terms are broad and cover many different species of fish, some of which have very different needs and temperaments.

Agreed. Danios are hyperactive and will stress out the smaller gouramis such as honeys and sparklers. I even had a dwarf gourami that was annoyed by my danios and rarely came out. Larger gouramis shouldn't have an issue though.

Well, as I said, it would be Zebra Danios....which Gouramis I would investigate before purchasing. I just wanted to know if its possible to house any gouramis with Zebras danios. When its time to decide exactly which, I will come to you guys again.

Pearls and zebras? That's a possbility I was considering - any thoughts?

Pearls, twin-spot (golden), blue, and kissing would be OK.
