I have one male red flame gourami who I lovingly call Meanie. And I am sure you can guess why. He never bothered any of my other fish (tetras, golden gourami, rosy barbs, platy's, etc) but when I put 2 mollies in the tank he attacked on so much it had to be put to sleep, and gave the other one ich. However, during this time, I started puting a ton of live plants in the tank and it really mellowed him out. He just hangs out either at the top or in the leaves. He never even chases a single fish, and the remaining mollie is well now. I think they just need their territory and they will be fine. I also have 2 angels now and he gets along well with them too. I think they just need their space and at least one should be fine for you. Good luck.
