My LFS has these fish. I can't seem to find any info on them. Are they just a color variety of the tinfoil barb? Do they get the same size then? They look like almost white with a hint of purple tin foil barb.

If it is a tinfoil barb it is a dyed one. Ask the store what they are and get a species name if possible. That will help us to help you. Find out more info.
Say "NO" to Dyed fish!!! Dyeing tinfoils is done, but not very often. I only came upon a Dyed tinfoil once in a year!
So you guys think the grape barb is a dyed tinfoil barb? It looks just like one except for color of course.
"Albino" Tiger Barbs are also dipped in blue dye to make a kind of purplish Tiger Barb.
